Introduction

Our School
Holy Rosary School was founded in 1891 as the first Catholic School in Tacoma. We offer a Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade academic programs as well as a before and after school extended care program to support working parents. Holy Rosary School and Parish are rich with family tradition, cultural diversity, and faith in God. We work to find a way to make this quality Catholic education affordable for families.

Our Vision
We share the Catholic Church’s belief that parents are the primary educators for their children in the faith and have a vision “that our children, created in the image of God, are entrusted to our care and with our guidance and God’s grace will grow in response to His plan for their lives.” (Holy Rosary School Vision Statement) All of our work to prepare liturgies, prepare children to receive sacraments as well as our efforts to sustain a comprehensive academic program are driven by this vision which can be tangibly experienced in the loving relationship between students and their teachers.

Non-Discrimination Policy
Holy Rosary School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin, sex or handicap to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, sex or handicap in the administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs and athletic and other school-administered programs. The principal reserves the right to amend this Handbook for just cause. Parents will be notified of such changes through the school newsletter.

Admissions

Registration
Registration involves meeting the principal, filling out a family information registration form, tuition contract, a tuition management contract and a service/fundraising commitment form and submitting a $200 non-refundable registration fee. All prior years’ tuition and fees must be paid or arrangements made for payment before registration is complete.

Tuition
The responsibility for the financial stability of Holy Rosary School is in the hands its community. Our commitment to the values of the school includes responsible stewardship. Choosing to provide a catholic education for our children involves making commitments and making sacrifices.

The real cost of educating a student at Holy Rosary School is approximately $5,600. The difference between the cost and tuition (approximately 30%) is obtained through our communities efforts in development and fundraising. The tuition schedule for the 2006/07 school year is as follows:
