This coming month, our parishes will be celebrating a parish luau. Organized by the social committee and with many of our parish groups offering activities and support, it is our hope that we not only get a taste of island- style fun, but create a chance for our community to have a good time together.
One of the joys of parish life is the opportunity to spend time together in a casual setting. Between our two parishes, folks often reminisce about feast day gatherings, special dinners, pancake breakfasts and parish picnics. In addition to prayer and worship together, it is a great blessing to catch up with friends, meet new folks and let the kids run around a bit before heading home.
It's a rare treat to be able to relax in a crowd and know that you're welcome -even if everyone doesn't know your name (or vice versa!). I hope you'll join us for the parish luau in August (Sunday the 18th) and that you have a blast!
