Dear friends,

Thank you for your prayers for the priests of the archdiocese this last week. It was a wonderful weekend at Ocean Shores, with a mild weather, shared prayer and talks and plenty of opportunity to catch up with priests from around the archdiocese.

Perhaps the greatest blessings of this week are times we are able to celebrate Mass together and the opportunities to relax. Each day we come together for Mass presided over by the archbishop and joined by Bishop Eusebio and the newly returned Archbishop Burnett (who was away in Oakland while they were without an ordinary for a while). Throughout the liturgical year there are only two guaranteed times we have a chance to concelebrate Mass with the archbishop - the Chrism Mass and the ordination Mass for new priests. These few days at Priest days are a nice addition to that cycle, and very welcome.

Of course free time with other priests is a pretty wonderful gift to! There are scheduled events (the bowling competition is always fun) and also bits of free time. A group of us went miniature golfing and in water bumper cars. No photos I'm afraid! Good fun though.

This coming week we have our Quo Vadis days - a discernment retreat for young men considering the call to priesthood. And it is a great gift to be a priest! May we pray for our current and future priests, that God may continue to bless the church abundantly.
