Of course you’ll read this after you’ve made your commitment, but before I know what that is! Nonetheless, I want you to know how grateful I am for your support of our parish. There are many things that a priest can do, but without the members of his pews behind him, there will be very little accomplished and little to celebrate.

This week we celebrate the Presentation of Mary, when Mary in her childhood was dedicated to the Lord. In so many ways, Mary is a model for all Christians. We do well to reflect on Mary’s own offering of Herself: “thy will be done”. She herself was not without doubts on how she might contribute to God’s work (“how can this be?”), yet her fiat was the offering through which Jesus came into the world.  

Our gifts often seem in our eyes to be meager and insufficient. We may wonder if they truly can help effect change or accomplish anything. Yet it is through the humblest of saints that we have a Saviour, and the meanest of elements that become His Body & Blood.

Our offering of what we have and who we are does make a difference! Thank you for your generosity.
