Holy Rosary Committee Project
Holy Rosary Committees Project
Over the last year and a half, our parishes have seen lots of new growth. All of our masses have grown, with new families and more regular visitors. For the first time in years, we have our own Confirmation and First Communion programs-both of which have taken off in this their second year-along with our RCIA and wedding preparation courses. Our experimental summer study group has even morphed into a long year Bible group, meeting twice a month.
In addition to the building up of our community, we have been able to address a number of long-standing issues with our facilities. Our locks and keys have been consolidated at the convent, a years long leak in the basement of the convent repaired, stolen downspouts at Holy Rosary replaced, a significant leak at St. Joseph repaired, St. Joseph office moved and renovated. Among many other things!
The happy problem we face now is that of having even more to do! The Holy Rosary Rectory roof is under evaluation for significant repairs, we have a new website in the works, a parish directory needing completion, among other projects to tackle. We have much to look forward to, both in restoring our facilities and in the building up of our community life.
But in all of this we need your help!
I am asking for volunteers to help us take more active roles and directing the different areas of our growing communities this starts with groups of parishioners who can meet, discuss the issues facing the parish and then take responsibility for helping move forward. We have six committees we would like to form.
Please pray over these committee descriptions and your own interests. Please consider volunteering for either a committee or helping in the work the committee will be directing. We have been extraordinarily blessed in the work we have accomplished. With your help we will continue to do great things in our parishes!
The primary work of the worship committee would be to help plan our celebrations throughout the liturgical year. This is especially necessary during advent, Christmas, went and Easter. Together we would Cordinator lectors, extraordinary ministers of holy communion, alter servers and choirs.
Faith Formation Committee.
What a joy to actually have faith formation programs like confirmation and first communion! This committee would be responsible for supporting those who teach these programs, as well as building up their opportunities for parishioners together in prayer and study!
Grounds and Facilities Committee
Between our two parishes, we have five buildings and many acres of land. Having a group of parishioners who can help assess our needs, prioritize projects and work with contractors will help ensure that the treasures we have in our parishes will last for the next generation of parishioners.
Our outreach to those who do not have enough is an interval part of our Catholic faith. In the last year or St. Vincent Depaul program has been an active-we need help reorganizing and restoring this essential program. With that back in place, we can begin looking at other ways we might help those suffering in our community.
Our two parishes have long histories of gathering outside of the mass for fraternity and fun. Our successes have come from the enthusiasm for being a unified community. With the turn-of-the-century, we have so many more tools to reach out to folks in every generation, so that people may know they have a home in our parishes.
Each year we have two primary appeals, for the Parish stewardship drive and for the archdiocese annual appeal. Having a group of people to help steer both our goals and projects will help make these even more successful than they already are.
